6-Carboxytetramethylrhodamine (6-TAMRA or 6-Carboxy-TMR) is a bright, photostable orange-red fluorescent dye with excitation/emission maxima of 543/572 nm. It has a high quantum yield, is compatible with rhodamine filter sets, and is optimally excited by 532 nm or 546 nm laser lines. Widely used for labeling peptides, proteins, nucleotides, and nucleic acids, it is ideal for fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, and sequencing.
This NHS- (succinimidyl-, SE) activated derivative enables covalent modification of primary and secondary amino groups in peptides, proteins, amino-modified nucleotides, and other amine-containing biomolecules, yielding stable amide bonds. The product is provided as single isomers.
