6-Carboxyfluorescein (6-FAM) is a bright green dye with excitation/emission maxima of 492/517 nm. It offers a high quantum yield, is fully compatible with Fluorescein (FITC) filter sets, and closely matches the 488 nm spectral line of the argon-ion laser. Common applications include labeling peptides, proteins, oligonucleotides, and other biomolecules for fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry and in vitro assays.
This amine derivative is intended for coupling to activated carboxylic acid derivatives and for enzymatic transamination labeling. It is supplied as single 6-isomer.
