6-Carboxyfluorescein (6-FAM) is a bright green dye with excitation/emission maxima of 492/517 nm. It offers a high quantum yield, is fully compatible with fluorescein (FITC) filter sets, and closely matches the 488 nm spectral line of the argon-ion laser. Common applications include labeling peptides, proteins, oligonucleotides, and other biomolecules for fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry and in-vitro assays.
This highly purified 6-Carboxyfluorescein might be used for covalent labeling of proteins and alkylamino modified nucleic acids upon activation as, e.g. succinimidyl ester (SE or NHS ester). The product is provided as mixture of isomers.
