Trade name: | Dicarboxymethylene blue |
Reactive Moiety: | free carboxylic acid |
This non-activated methylene blue derivative is used as an electroactive labeling reagent for covalent attachment to proteins and alkylamino modified nucleic acids. Dicarboxymethylene blue contains two carboxylic acid functional groups. In addition to its relatively high absorption, DCMB has excellent and validated redox properties and is a good generator for singlet oxygen, making it to a particularly suitable label for electrochemical and photosensitzer applications.
